Tick tock, that's the sound of the clock winding down, but it isn't slow enough. Sidestepping responsibilities that I really need to get a grip on. I went to Portales, NM a couple of days to visit friends that I haven't seen for a couple of months, I left my reality to have a little fun. In the beginning of April Sotheby's sent me the link to their inside server, mainly a web site for new students where they can get help figuring things out. There is also a discussion portal, for a while there wasn't any activity on the board but about a week or so ago someone posted and then a couple more people posted.
The people that wrote something are mainly from abroad but there were at least 2 others from the U.S., one from New York and another from, I think, Pennsylvania. I posted on there and got a response from the girl in New York, like many she's worried about finding places to live. I also got an email from a girl who is in South Korea doing tefl program (teaching english as a foreign language), she is going to Sotheby's in the fall. However, get this, she's from Denver, which is really random but really cool, because I never would have thought someone would be from Colorado, I would have thought they would all have been on the east coast. There is logic to my thinking, Sotheby's also has a school in New York, so more people on the east coast would know about it. I'll be meeting up with the girl in July when she comes back to the U.S. I also ended up emailing the young woman the school had initially put me in contact with if I had questions about the school, which I did. She gave some really great tips about how and where to start flat hunting. I also know someone in Glasgow that I can try to contact and ask about life in the U.K., although it's a long shot. I also know someone from Canada, who may or may not know people in London. So I have a couple of leads which is good, I can relay information to others that may not know where to start. I feel a little better about heading to London, although it still gives me a headache to think of all that needs to be done.
